Springfest Auction Fundraiser this March! The 40th Annual Springfest, PCNS's major fundraiser will be on Saturday March 3rd, 2012. Please mark your calendars and keep an eye out for more information. The Mardi Gras inspired silent/live auction party: Let the Good Times Roll will once again be a fun night of great auctions, food, and drink, along with dancing to top the night off. Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler! See you there! Cooperative Pre-School: We are a parent run, professionally directed, not-for-profit, licensed preschool. Cooperative for us means parents participate deeply, in multiple ways, in our program, through weekly work-shifts, on-going projects throughout the year, and periodic organizational and educational development. This high level of parent engagement and participation provides a very low cost way to deliver a high quality educational experience to our students. Oh, and it is pretty fun too! Our philosophy is: we believe that together as parents and staff we can enhance growth, development and self-esteem, and promote a deeper understanding and respect of each child's unique qualities. See more here. Our goal is to provide an environment in which a child's social-emotional, cognitive and physical being will be enriched. Our objective is to create an environment of learning for parents and children to practice numerous skills which will increase the cognitive, social-emotional and physical skills of each child, by providing hands-on experiences in a safe, socially stimulating and supervised environment. Our program is thematic and multi-modal with emphasis placed on the process rather than on a specific end product. By thematic, we mean that information is presented within a periodic cycle over two to three weeks for each theme (e.g. colors, outer space, safety, circus or winter celebrations). By multi-modal, we mean that the themes are presented through a variety of activities used to explore many facets of the theme as well as used to reinforce active learning process (e.g. painting pictures of planets, playing language games with planet names, etc).
