Showers and storms back in Iowa this weekend
Today's mixture of sun and clouds will give way to partly cloudy skies across Iowa tonight. The light rain drifting along the Missouri border will diminish into the evening. Like today, some areas of fog will develop during the predawn hours of tomorrow. The rest of Friday will be partly sunny, with some scattered showers and storms breaking out later in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures should climb into the mid-80s.Interactive Radar | Weather AlertsSimilar weather is expected Saturday. Scattered showers and a few storms will likely be around parts of Iowa during the day. A more organized weather system will sweep in from the northwest Saturday night. If we haven't had too many showers/storms during the day, this system might be able to produce some stronger storms as it comes into western Iowa Saturday evening and night. Either way, this system will come through the state Saturday night into Sunday, likely with some more scattered showers Sunday. Breezy northwest winds on Sunday will push cooler, less humid air into Iowa, leaving us mostly sunny and pretty comfortable by Monday. Highs around 80° and drier air will be around for at least the first half of next work week.Weather Outlook: Chance of scattered storms returns Friday thru Sunday Stronger storms possible Saturday PM Temps slightly below average early next weekIowa weather forecastThursday Night: Partly cloudy.
